Operation Gratitude
We are very excited to announce NCFC’s partnership with Operation Gratitude, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to expressing appreciation for our troops and lifting morale of U.S. Service Members by sending care packages to individuals deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind, and to wounded warriors recuperating in Transition Units. The packages are filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation. NCFC has chosen to team up with Operation Gratitude as we support the mission of the organization and feel it is a good fit given the wide range of co-op products available that are ideal for the care packages.
Operation Gratitude’s care packages contain an assortment of items, including snack foods (hot and cold drink mixes, jerky, dried fruit, nuts, trail mix, energy bars, cookies, candy), T-shirts, hats, socks, entertainment items (computer flash drives, DVDs, CDs, cameras, international phone cards, small plush animals, games, stationary, etc.), and personal care products (toothpaste, sunscreen, lip balm, foot powder). Additionally, each package costs $15 to assemble and ship—therefore, monetary donations are needed and welcomed. Along with these items and monetary donations, hand written notes are requested to help personalize the care packages. NCFC has blank postcards for your use that can be mailed to your cooperative upon request.
NCFC has set a goal of our members donating 1,000 care packages in conjunction with Operation Gratitude’s Spring Drive. Organizations donating 1,000 items or more of product are listed as a “Friend of Operation Gratitude” on their website, with a link to the donor organization’s website. Additionally, these donor organizations are listed on the “Friends Page” of the Operation Gratitude Magazine that is sent in every package. Donors of $10,000 or 10,000 items or more are deemed Corporate Sponsors, with additional prominent banner placement on the Operation Gratitude website, press releases, and recognition through newsletters, media, the Operation Gratitude Magazine and Operation Gratitude events.
The deadline for product/item donations is May 15th. Please use the NCFC Member Donation Form for both co-op products donations and monetary donations. Operation gratitude asks that all donations include a donation form in each donation box for inventory and recording purposes. All donations will be made directly to Operation Gratitude using the donation form provided.
