Welcome to the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives
65th Cooperative Information Fair
NCFC is pleased to announce that we are now accepting entries for the 2010 Cooperative Information Fair. As you may know, the Info Fair recognizes those communications and marketing projects of farmer cooperatives that effectively promote business, inform members, and disseminate information to the public. Professors from the journalism and mass communications school of a major university will judge entries in 34 categories, ranging from best press releases and best magazines to best marketing plans and best advertising campaigns and multi-media campaigns.
This year, we are adding another component to the fair. As a complement to NCFC’s communication campaign-- “Farme Co-ops: Providing for America,” we will be honoring the entry that best tells the farmer cooperative story and promotes the benets of co-ops—to their farmer-owners, to rural communities, and to consumers. While many categories in the fair will remain the same, we will expand the judging criteria in several of the writing and photography categories to emphasize how well these stories, columns or photos communicate one of the four main themes of our “Providing for America” campaign, which are:
• Farmer co-ops provide producers with strength in numbers
• Farmer co-ops promote a competitive agricultural marketplace
• Farmer co-ops preserve a way of like in rural America
• Farmer co-ops provide for consumers both in the U.S. and around the world.
Winning entries will be showcased to CEOs and co-op directors at the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives Annual Meeting, to be held February 9-11, 1011 at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas. NCFC hopes that the winner or winners of this award can attend our 2011 Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, to be recognized and to participate in a session at the meeting on eectively communicating the co-op story.
The deadline to enter is Friday, October 8, 2010. All entries must have been completed between October 1, 2009 and October 8, 2010. The cost is minimal, only $25-40 per entry, depending on the category. The winners will be showcased at the 2010 NCFC Annual Meeting, allowing CEOs, board members, and other cooperative leaders to see your creative team’s winning work.
Take advantage of special evaluations to get a professional assessment of your work. Special evaluations provide you with a detailed analysis of the entry, affirming what works and suggesting improvements in other areas. The fee for special evaluations is only $40 in addition to the entry fee, a bargain for such expert feedback.
