NCFC Applauds Appointment of Glen Keppy As FSA Associate Administrator Print E-mail

Washington, DC—The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives today commended Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns on his announcement of Glen Keppy as Associate Administrator of USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA). For the past 34 years, Keppy and his family have owned and operated a third generation family farm in eastern Iowa consisting of a farrow-to-finish hog operation and approximately 1000 acres of corn, soybeans, oats, and alfalfa hay.

“Glen brings valuable experience and a unique perspective to this position, having been a successful farmer for over three decades, having traveled around the world promoting US agriculture, and having assumed leadership positions with farmer cooperatives and agricultural trade associations,” said NCFC President Jean-Mari Peltier. “While NCFC and the farmer cooperative community will certainly miss the guidance that he has provided, I know that Glen will help advance USDA’s mission of service to America’s farmers. We congratulate him on his appointment and look forward to working with him in support of this important mission.”
